Night Watch

leave a response

A friend of mine once said that call centers suck the life out of a person and leave them as empty hollow husks of their former selves. Pretty deep for my bud, but is it really as bad as he depicts it? Hmmmmm…. I guess its more of a base to base cases thing (hehehehehehe) because I hella love what I do. Why? Lemmie count the ways:

1. I’m an insomniac so working at night is a big plus

2. Night Differential Rules!!!!!!

3. I am surrounded by people who are around my age

4. Alot of really, really, really, really HOT co-workers

5. Meeting some of the most whacked-out people in the planet

6. No traffic

7. No sun (big plus for nosferatus who play the masquerade)

8. Lax Dress Code

9. Experience is not required

10. The job that has the least amount of responsibility but has the highest amount of pay

But as good as it gets, it does have its downside as well. Health problems and chronological disorientation are often common problems a person in my career gets. A drop in your usual “night life’ activities is also a downer (time management becomes a skill in planning your gimmicks now since you work weird hours in comparison to your buds).

So was my bud right? Does this job suck you dry like a demented leech on steroids? All I can say is that you get what you want. It can be your twisted version of hell wherein Barney (the purple dinosaur anti-christ) is all powerful or it can be a kick ass version of heaven where Traci Lords is still in the industry that made her famous.

Gah.

Time to get me some coffee and get my ass back to work.
